Delicious American-style food and a nice atmosphere. It's relaxed but also feels classier than your typical bar. It's in a good location near other bars as well.

Truly an eclectic menu with a variety of meats and sources spanning duck, seafood, etc. Large beer and cocktail menu, and generally not a bad place to drink. Prices, however, are less reasonable for the food and drinks that are being offered. Although the meal was delicious, I could find a similar quality meal for 1/2 the cost elsewhere. Otherwise, this is in a good location.

Personable staff - informative, attentive, and friendly. We had a large group that stayed past closing, and it was a memorable experience with no regrets. We were swapping stories with the head bartender and some of the regulars before we left, having enjoyed good service and respectable food throughout the evening. My ahi tuna was cooked more than I would have liked, but everything else about the experience was notably positive.

Amazing food. Never went there and had a plate that I didn't love. Atmosphere ranges from secluded and quiet to extremely packed (sometimes it's a bit too much). Overall this is a great place. Expensive, but worth it.

Great brunch on Sundays!

I used to come here a lot before I had kids, so much that the bartenders knew my name. That's what this place is like, a neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other. The food is top notch too, great burger, steak and fries, and duck.

Phenomenal wine list, amazing food, and even better local vibe. What a neighborhood restaurant should be.

I really like this place. The ambience is nice and personal. Great selection of beers. I tried the cheese place which was outstanding and the pulled pork sandwiches which was also good. I would go back if I'm in the area again.

Food is good, sometines long wait but worth it

Large variety of great beers in a range of prices, excellent service and food. Ambiance and lighting is nice, although the dinner tables are a little tight. The price is on the expensive side, but it's reflective of the overall quality. One of my favorite places in the area.

This spot constantly delivers. They serve awesome food for affordable pricing, there no long wait even when they are busy.

Best pulled pork I've ever had

I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant last Saturday night. The half chicken was amazing and on par with the old Hamersley's in the South End. The crab cake appetizer was entree sized and perfectly prepared. We also had a heirloom tomato salad that was on the special list.

Deserves it's reputation as best neighborhood restaurant & pub. Can't say enough good things about the Tavern. Food is awesome and great hospitality. Best nights of the year are here! Just swing on by....

Consistently a great place to grab a casual upscale dinner. Host is warm and fun and someone remembers everyone.

Excellent and interesting menu. Everything was fresh and delicious. The sauses were very interesting. Every dish had a different sauce. Lots of beer choices.

I just had the halibut at Washington Square Tavern, and it was much better than the one I had at No. 9 Park last weekend. What a jewel in Brookline!

One of my very favorite places in Boston! Ok, it's in Brookline but worth the trip. Great food, changing menu, friendly staff led by owner Jerry, who is a great larger than life character! Lots of atmosphere at the bar. Bicycle themed decoration is a plus for me!

Best burgers! Large juicy pattie, nice grilled bun, cooked to the temperature you want, great French fires....Although, I finished my burger and had left over French fries. That's a rareity👌🏽

Best place to be on a Friday evening. They have good collection beers - lager and ale. Appetizers as well as entrees are better than average. Tube best thing i liked is service. And relaxed ambience.

Amazing food, great wine list, and gastro-pub in Washington Square. If you want a great meal at a reasonable price, go to the tavern. The food there rivals many of the great restaurants in Boston. Also is a great place to grab a beer or whiskey.

Nice, comfortable place. Good beer selection and upscale cocktails. I had steak frites, which was only OK considering the price. The steak was on the small side and overcooked for my preference. I had ordered medium rare and it came much closer to medium well. Good service, considering the crowd.

Solid food, inventive menu, but prices are astronomical for the area and quality of the space. This isn't an upscale restaurant, yet they are serving $30 dollar entrees and 14 dollar cocktails. My burger was good, but the same quality of a burger I could get anywhere else for maybe 10 dollars, not 16. Was good for a taste, but probably won't be back.

Had a drink there. Seemed pretty well made. Nothing negative to say and nothing to write home about other than that they have a large selection of liquors and a somewhat inventive cocktail list

Been here for private party twice now and the food is good. Enjoyed the custom drinks and also enjoyed their bourbon selection.
